The idea of traveling to Mexico for a summer vacation is a bit underrated. Mexico is full of beauty, history and adventure. This summer we explored Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara and Michoacan! Yes, all packed in less than 11 days. Here are some pics. of some of the most amazing spots and recommendations!
View from the Tulum Ruins facing the Caribbean Sea. The sand is flat and is perfect for your non-swimmer friends.
Definitely a luxury hotel, but worth the $. Perfect for groups of up to 5. Split the cost and enjoy the pampering. The hospitality is incredible. *Tip: rent a vehicle and buy food from the local grocery store. The casitas you stay in have all the amenities you need to prepare your daily meals. Also…each casita has its own private pool! I know, right!
Tulum – Cenote’s
You’ll see a lot of advertisements to visit cenote’s (sinkholes). Some go up to $149 per person. We visited this one that was about $5 per person. The Emerald colors were incredible. If you’re an avid snorkeler then try visiting the more popular advertised cenote’s.
Gorgeous hammocks spotted in downtown Tulum.
Can’t recommend this B&B enough. We were actually turned off by Puerto Vallarta itself. It was super touristy and the beach wasn’t that great. Once we checked into the Rivera del Rio we didn’t want to leave! I mean…look at the pictures! Elle & Vogue have done shoots here. Definitely funky and glam. If a foo-food poodle could pick a hotel it would be this one.
